Notices : 23rd September 2007

23rd September 2007

Welcome to our services today!

10.00am - Prayer for our services.  All welcome.

10.45am - Morning service

After the service, prayer is available for anyone who would like to be prayed with – please make your way to the front of the church where the prayer team will meet you.

Please join us for tea and coffee after the service in the hall.  If you are a visitor here today, we have a welcome leaflet available.  Please ask if you have not received one.

6.00pm – Evening service

Hearing Loop – There is a loop system available downstairs in the centre seating block for those who need it.

Memory verse for the week commencing 24/9/07:

‘My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.’  Prov. 1:10

Acoustic Café

A very big thank you to everyone who was involved in The Acoustic Cafe last Sunday afternoon at Rudloe…it was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Welcome Service

There will be an official welcome service for Rob and Sharon next Sunday morning at 10.45am.

Can anyone help?

Is there anyone who has an unused Sky box with a viewing card? There is no tv aerial at Rob & Sharon’s house and it would make more sense to install a Sky box than to pay for a new aerial.  If you can help, please speak to Rob or Graham.

Harvest Service – 7 October

This year our harvest service will be held on the 7th October and we will once again be supporting The Doorway Project (homeless drop-in centre) in Chippenham.  They have requested that the following items be collected :  canned meats, canned vegetables, canned fruit. Ring-pull cans are especially welcome as many of their guests do not have can-openers.  In addition to the above, the manager of Doorway has indicated that funding at present is critical and they are only able to continue with the project until December unless further monies come in.  If anyone would prefer to give financially instead of, or in addition to food items, it would be greatly appreciated.

Housegroup Material

The material for this term’s housegroup meetings (“Soul Songs”) is available at the back of the church.  Please put your money into the small red box (£3 per book).  Please note, the Wednesday Bible Course which was publicized a few weeks ago is now full.

Corsham & Chippenham Central Bible Study

There is a notice on the board at the back about the Corsham & Chippenham Bible Study programme which has been going every year from September to April for seventy years!  Please take a leaflet and see whether you are able to support this study group.

Fund-Raising Breakfast

Last year Monique organized a very successful breakfast morning to raise funds for a Ugandan orphanage which she supports.  This year the breakfast will be held on Saturday 13th October from 8.30am to 12 noon.  You can come along at any time during this period for either a full English breakfast or a gentler affair of tea and toast!  Please support this worthwhile event and help Monique raise money for the orphanage.

Ladies Weekend – Feb ‘08

The Lox Lane Christian Centre in Shaftesbury has been booked for a Ladies’ Weekend from 15th to 17th February 2008.  Look out for more details in the weeks to come.

Traidcraft

There will be a traidcraft stall next week after the morning service. Please see how you can support third world farmers by buying the fair-trade products on display.
