Please join us for tea and coffee after the service in the hall.  If you are a visitor here today, we have a welcome leaflet available.  Please ask if you have not received one.

Hearing Loop – There is a loop system available downstairs in the centre seating block for those who need it.

Memory verse for the week commencing 17/9/07:

Acoustic Café

The Acoustic Cafe will be held this afternoon at the Rudloe Community Centre from 3pm-7pm.  Admission is free and children are welcome.  Children aged 5-11 will be entertained with puppets, games etc.  Please speak to Paul or Margaret if you are able to help out in any way ie. stewarding, hostessing, door-greeting etc.

Welcome Service

There will be an official welcome service for Rob and Sharon on the 30th September at 10.45am.

Wedding Blessing

The wedding blessing of Martin and Cathy will be held at Priory Street Baptist Church on Saturday 22nd September at 11am with Graham officiating.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Cathy & Martin are moving house on the 5th October.  If anyone is able to help them with their move, please speak to Martin today. Thank you.

Harvest Service – 7 October

This year our harvest service will be held on the 7th October and we will once again be supporting The Doorway Project (Homeless Drop-In) in Chippenham.  They have requested that the following items be collected :  canned meats, canned vegetables, canned fruit. Ring-pull cans are especially welcome as many of their guests do not have can-openers.  In addition to the above, the manager of Doorway has indicated that funding at present is critical and they are only able to continue with the project until December unless further monies come in.  If anyone would prefer to give financially instead of, or in addition to food items, it will be greatly appreciated.

Housegroup Material

The material for this term’s housegroup meetings (“Soul Songs”) is available at the back of the church.  Please put your money into the small red box (£3 per book).  Please note, the Wednesday Bible Course which was publicized last week is now full.

Corsham & Chippenham Central Bible Study

There is a notice on the board at the back about the Corsham & Chippenham Bible Study programme which has been going every year from September to April for seventy years!  Please take a leaflet and see whether you are able to support this study group.

The Tuesday Lunch Club

Wendy and Michael have decided with much regret that they will be unable to continue running the Tuesday Lunch Club, owing mainly to increased family responsibilities.  There will therefore be no TLC lunches this autumn.  Discussions are taking place about ways in which the ministry of the church to our older folk might continue to develop, maybe in other ways.  Anyone who has ideas, or who is interested in contributing to this discussion, please have a word with Alan C.

Fund-Raising Breakfast

Last year Monique organized a very successful breakfast morning to raise funds for a Ugandan orphanage which she supports.  This year the breakfast will be held on Saturday 13th October from 8.30am to 12 noon.  You can come along at any time during this period for either a full English breakfast or a gentler affair of tea and toast!  Please support this worthwhile event and help Monique raise money for the Bulabakula Orphanage.

Traidcraft

There will be a traidcraft stall today after the service. Please take a look at the goods on the table and see how you can support third world farmers.
