Easter Week

During this week there are a number of events taking place in and around Corsham to celebrate Easter. Details can be found on the back page of these notices, including a service here at 9.30am on Friday morning.

“Open Blue” – Easter Outreach

Please pray for our Easter Saturday outreach with the “Open Blue” double-decker bus on Easter Saturday – more information and venues on the noticeboards. There will be face-painting, competitions, dance, puppets, teas and coffees – all free. A great event to invite your friends along to.

Annual Church Meeting – 22nd April, 4pm

Everyone is welcome to the ACM on Sunday 22nd April, starting 4pm. There will be a short meeting followed by cake and tea/coffee, and an opportunity to have a look at the work of the ministries over the past year.

Church Accounts: The 2006 Church Accounts are now available from the Treasurer. Due to the complexity of the accounts (because we are a large church now), there will only be a brief presentation at the ACM. Copies of the accounts are now available from Chris. However, to do our bit for the environment they will also be available on the blog (follow the links from the notices page). We would encourage all of you who are able, to access the electronic version. If you would like more information or explanation about the accounts, please speak to Chris between now and before the ACM and she will be happy to assist.

Election of Deacons: Nominations for vacancies are now open and will close at 10.45am on Sunday 8th April. If you did not receive a hand-out relating to the appointing of deacons last week, please take one from the table at the back of the church.

Ministry Leaders: Details of the format for ACM reports this year have been posted to you and should be received shortly. If you have any questions, please speak to Graham or Alan K.

Prayer for the Persecuted Church

On Tuesday 3rd April prayer for the persecuted church will take place at the home of Audrey from 7.30-8.30pm.

Marriage Course

The Marriage Course runs from 17th April to 29th May. The course is for any married couple who wants to build a strong and lasting relationship. For further details, please take a sheet off the table at the back of the church or contact Geoff or Marilyn, or Pam and Stuart.

Tuesday Lunch Club

Our older folks and friends will be meeting at 12pm on Tuesday 10th April for lunch and time together afterwards.

Men’s Weekend Away - September 2007

Oxenwood Outdoor Centre (a few miles east of Marlborough) has been booked for the next Men's Weekend from Friday 7th until Sunday 9th September 2007. The weekend will cost about £30 - £35 and enable time for teaching, fellowship & prayer. In order to gauge numbers, please put your name on the list at the back of the church if you think you will be attending. This does not commit you to attend at this stage but will enable us to start planning. More details will be available over the next couple of months but feel free to speak to Alan C or Stuart if you would like more information.

Junior Church

Calling all teachers if you have not returned your CRB forms! There are still 10 outstanding forms to be returned. Please could you complete them and make an appointment with Graham a.s.a.p. so we can send them off – you know who you are! Thank you.

Can you help the Debt Advice Centre?

The Debt Advice Centre needs one or two people who could commit to some Friday mornings to help with writing letters and making phone calls on behalf of our clients. At the moment this is provided by Marilyn, but sadly she will be leaving us in July. If you are computer literate, are familiar with Microsoft Word and have a few hours to spare, please speak to Alan C.

Free To Good Homes

Audrey has some plants to give away, please contact her to collect. Sally has the following items available: A small blue chair, w20”, d16”and h28”, a square wooden needlework box with a round lid (19 inches across), an electric carving knife and a cordless screwdriver in working order. Please phone Sally if you are interested in any of these items.
