11th March 2007

Welcome to our services today!

10.00am Every Sunday - Morning prayer for our services.

All welcome.

10.45am Morning Service

After the service, prayer is available for anyone who would like to be prayed with – please make your way to the front of the church where the prayer team will meet you.

Please join us for tea and coffee after the service in the hall. If you are a visitor here today, we have a welcome leaflet available. Please ask if you have not received one.

6.00pm Evening Service

Large print copies of the song words and notice sheets are available on request from the door stewards.

Hearing Loop – There is a loop system available downstairs in the centre seating block for those who need it.

Memory Verse for the Week commencing 12/3/07

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” James 1:2-3

Youth Weekend Away - today

Please pray for the young people today as they enter the last day of their weekend away. Pray for God’s touch on them all as they spend time together, and for safe travelling home again.

Tuesday Lunch Club

Our older folks and friends will have their monthly get-together at 12 midday on Tuesday where they will enjoy a meal together and listen to a speaker afterwards.

Please pray

Graham will be ministering in Vienna from 14-21 March, joining the Fellowship of Christian Refugees (FCR) conference. During his time away he will be spending time with the FCR team, visiting FCR communities and speaking to the FCR fellowship. Graham would ask you all to pray for him as he takes part in these activities – his full itinerary is on the board at the back of the church and there are copies for you to take away for prayer reference.

Joint Housegroup – 21st March

Everyone is welcome to attend the Joint Housegroup on 21st March, 7.30pm – you do not have to be attending a housegroup to come along for the evening meal and time together afterwards. However, we do need some volunteers to help with the serving and washing up. We require 5 – 6 volunteers to assist (last month there were only two). Please see Louise or Alan S. if you are able to help out on the night.

Tearfund Service

On the 18th March (Mothering Sunday) we are having a special Tearfund Service which will include a short video and talk about the “Work a Miracle” campaign. It is about raising awareness of HIV/AIDS with the emphasis being on preventing mother to baby transmission of the virus, and exploring ways of involvement.

Marriage Course

The Marriage Course is commencing on Tuesday 17th April for seven weeks, concluding on 29th May. The course is designed for any married couple who wants to build a strong and lasting relationship. Privacy as a couple is always respected and there is no group discussion or requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else. For further details about the topics covered or other aspects, please take a sheet off the table at the back of the church or contact Geoff and Marilyn, or Pam and Stuart.

Alanna

Alanna will be away on short-term mission in Zambia from 23rd March, where she will be working with orphans and street children.

What’s on in the area

At Hay Hill Baptist Church on 15th March Alison Dorricott from `The French House Party’ Singles Holiday Organisation will be speaking about her experiences as part of the Christian singles community. More details on the noticeboard and at www.K2bristol.org.uk.

The Food Pantry

Thank you to all of you who continue to make donations to the food pantry. At present the most pressing needs are for soap powder/washing tablets, women’s hygiene products, washing up liquid, deodorant, disposable razors. In addition, pasta cooking sauces, tea & coffee, tinned fruit and rice pudding would be useful.

Can you help?

The Debt Advice Centre has been given some household items to be donated to those in need of them. However, they need somewhere to keep the items temporarily. If you have some garage or other storage space available, please speak to Alan C.

New Address

Please continue to pray for Suzanne and family as they settle into their new home and for the children in their new schools. Their new address may be obtained from the church office.
