Youth Weekend Away: next weekend

Chantmarle Manor in Dorchester is going to be the venue for the Young People’s Weekend Away. Please pray this week for their time away together and for God’s presence with them. If you would like to help reduce the cost of this weekend for the young people, you can make a contribution in the box at the back of the church or to Chris. Donations can be gift aided, so please use a brown envelope. Thank you.

Tearfund Service

On the 18th March (Mothering Sunday) we are having a special Tearfund Service which will include a short video and talk about the “Work a Miracle” campaign. It is raising awareness of HIV and AIDS with the emphasis being on preventing mother to baby transmission of the virus.

Lent Courses

This year’s Lent study course is “Lost for Words” – sharing your faith with others. Three weekly courses will be running simultaneously, starting Tuesday 27th February, 7.30pm at King John’s Hunting Lodge, Lacock; Thursday 1st March, 7.30pm at St. Aldhelm’s Church Hall, and Friday 2nd March, 10.30am at Church House, Corsham. Each course will be five weeks long and led by one of the local ministers. The Lent course will close with a United Service on Sunday 1st April at St. Aldhelm’s Church, 6pm.

Events this week

Prayer for the Persecuted Church will take place on Tuesday 6th March, 7.30pm.

On Tuesday 6th March there is an Introduction to Listening Skills evening at Station Hill Baptist Church, Chippenham. This is a useful evening for anyone wishing to develop the skill of listening – to God, to others, to ourselves, run by Acorn Christian Healing Foundation. All welcome. Flyers available from the back of the church.

On Sunday 11th March you can attend a Transform evening and hear evangelist Michael Ramsden speak on “Answers in an Age of Confusion” at the Neeld Hall, Chippenham. Evening starts at 7.30pm. More details on the noticeboard.

The First Aid Box is missing!

Does anyone know where the first aid box from the kitchen has gone? It is missing and we are having to use the spare one. Please let Debbie or Louise know if you have the box and return it. Thank you.

Please remember

To turn off your mobile phones during the service, and to park in the Somerfield car park so that we do not upset our neighbours by parking in Priory Street and Arnolds Mead and all the spaces in their streets on a Sunday morning.

The Food Pantry

Thank you to all of you who continue to make donations to the food pantry. At present the most pressing needs are for soap powder/washing tablets, women’s hygiene products, washing up liquid, deodorant, disposable razors.

New Address

Suzanne and family had a successful house move this week. Please continue to pray for them as they settle into their new home and for the children in their new schools. Their new address is available from the church office.
