18th March 2007

Welcome to our special Tearfund service today!

10.00am Every Sunday - Morning prayer for our services.

All welcome.

10.45am Morning Service

After the service, prayer is available for anyone who would like to be prayed with – please make your way to the front of the church where the prayer team will meet you.

Please join us for tea and coffee after the service in the hall. If you are a visitor here today, we have a welcome leaflet available. Please ask if you have not received one.

6.00pm Evening Service

Large print copies of the song words and notice sheets are available on request from the door stewards.

Hearing Loop – There is a loop system available downstairs in the centre seating block for those who need it.

Scripture Memory Verse for week commencing 19/3/07…

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

Please pray

For Graham who is ministering in Vienna from 14-21 March, joining the Fellowship of Christian Refugees (FCR). During this week he is spending time with the FCR team, visiting FCR communities and speaking to the FCR fellowship. Graham asks you all to pray for him as he takes part in these activities – his full itinerary is on the board at the back of the church and there are copies for you to take away for prayer reference.

For Alanna who is going away on a two week mission with a small team from her previous church in Swansea, leaving on 23rd March. She will be serving in Chingola, Zambia. Alanna will be involved in children’s programmes - spending mornings in a children’s village orphanage and taking part in street work in the afternoons. Please pray for Alanna and the team as they travel, for protection while they are there and for God to use them and guide them during this time.

For Rudloe Tots - that they will see spiritual fruit and for them to cope with the frustrations of team changes.

Joint Housegroup – 21st March

Joint Housegroup is an evening open for everyone. The meal starts at 7.30pm followed by a time of worship and communion. Tracy kindly cooks the supper for us at Joint Housegroup, but for the evening to run smoothly we need 5 or 6 volunteers to help with the serving and washing up. So far we only have two volunteers for this Wednesday evening, so we are in need of a few more helpers. Please speak to Louise at the church office or Alan S if you are able to help out on the night. Thank you.

Prayer Meeting

There will be a prayer meeting for the work of the Austria Oasis Team in the lounge from 7-7.30pm on Wednesday, prior to Joint Housegroup. If you would like to join the previous Aid Trip team for this you are very welcome.

“Open Blue” – Easter Outreach

On Saturday 7th March we will be taking the “Open Blue” double decker bus to locations in Corsham where we will be inviting families to come on board and share in some Easter activities. We will also invite them along to our Easter Sunday Service. If you are interested in being part of this outreach event, please speak to Alan C. We will be looking for up to 12 volunteers, half to work in the café area serving drinks and hot cross buns, and half to take part in children’s work. Roz will also be putting together a puppet team for the day.

Ministry Leaders

The ACM is approaching and it is time once again to start thinking about your report for the meeting. You will soon be receiving information about the report format requirements for this year from the church office.

Marriage Course

The Marriage Course is commencing on Tuesday 17th April for seven weeks, concluding on 29th May. The course is designed for any married couple who wants to build a strong and lasting relationship. Privacy as a couple is always respected and there is no group discussion or requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else. For further details about the topics covered or other aspects, please take a sheet off the table at the back of the church or contact Geoff and Marilyn, or Pam and Stuart.

The Food Pantry

Thank you to all of you who continue to make donations to the food pantry. The most pressing needs this week are for pasta sauces, rice pudding and deodorants.

Can you help?

The Debt Advice Centre has been given some household items to be donated to those in need of them. However, they need somewhere to keep the items temporarily. If you have some garage or other storage space available, (measuring approx 3 x 6 foot) please speak to Alan C.

To Good Homes

Vic and Sheila have an EBAC dehumidifier, in full working order, and good condition, to give away to a good home. It is 2’3” high, 14” wide, and 11” deep. If you are interested in this item, please contact Vic.
