Scripture Memory Verse for week commencing 15/1/07

“For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?”  For from him and through him and to him are all things.  To him be glory forever.  Amen.”   Rom. 11: 34-36

Alpha

A Great Big Thank You to all the prayer warriors for Alpha – we had an amazingly fun and exciting Supper Evening on Monday night, and look forward to the course starting on Monday evening.  Thank you to Katharine and Andrew for opening up their home for the supper and to the helpers who made it such an enjoyable evening.  Please pray for the team and guests as they meet together on Monday evening - if you or a friend are interested in joining the course, please speak to Monique today.

Spring Harvest

Helen would like all final payments for Spring Harvest 2007 to be paid to her by 4pm on Saturday 27th January.

Nana and Sita

If you would like to contribute to Nana and Sita’s urgent need in meeting the costs of hiring an attorney for their asylum hearing in Austria, you can (for this circumstance only) either send money direct to Nana and Sita or you can make gifts through the church which will not be eligible for gift aid in this case. Their home address is available from the church office. Don’t forget to drop your old mobile phones into the red box, and we will send them off to be recycled in return for cash.  The money will be sent to Nana and Sita in Austria.

Prayer Chains

If anyone would like to join either an email or telephone prayer chain, please get in touch with Geoff.  Regular prayer for one another is a great blessing and support.

!Youth Matters! – News from Alanna

Happy new year! I hope you've had a good one!  This term we've got exciting adventures ahead.  I am currently planning the weekend away for the youth which is going to be from the 9th-11th March (put it into your dairies), so prayer in the lead up to it would be really good! I have also ordered and now given out a book on relationships, how we should be conducting them and issues around that, so I think this term should be a fun challenge.

“Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.“  Phillipians 3 v.3-14.  This is my prayer for the next term!  Alanna.

Week of Prayer

Between 18th and 24th January churches in the area will be open, on a rota basis, for times of personal prayer.  Here at Priory Street the church will be open on Thursday 18th January from 7.15-8am and there will be a joint service here on Sunday 21st January at 6pm.  See the notice board at the back for full details of each church’s time for prayer.

Church Directory

The deadline for submitting your address, phone and email details for the new church directory is 21st Jan.  If we have not received your updated details by this date, we will use your existing entry from the old directory.  Update forms are available at the back of the church.  Please return them to Louise or Debbie.

Men’s Curry Night

Dave is organising a men’s curry night out on 8th February (please not change of date) – all men welcome!  Please contact Dave if you would like to go, so he can confirm numbers with the restaurant.

To Good Homes…

A virtually brand new computer keyboard is free to a new home for anyone who needs one.  Please contact Louise or Debbie in the office should you be interested.  Thank you.

New Job?

We have been advised to let you know that there are two vacancies at a care home in Chippenham for adults with learning disabilities.  The positions are for support workers, one full-time and one part-time.  Please contact the church office for full details
